Lady B Monastrell-Syrah blend is made of 60% Monastrell and 40% Syrah crafted in the Murcia region of Spain, known as the home of Monastrell. Spanish Monastrell is crafted with Mourvedre grapes (the second most popular grapes in Spain after Tempranillo), which impart complex flavors of dark fruits, like cherries, blueberries and a bit of plum, balanced with earthy notes like leather, vanilla and licorice. The rich, deepness of this wine comes from the Syrah blend which imparts some spice and a little pepper on backend. Lady B Monastrell-Syrah is velvety and intense with well-integrated wood and a fresh acidity.
This wine does benefit from decanting and time to breathe. We recommend pairing with grilled, roasted or smoked pork.
